Where do you write your tickets?

Each officer has his/her own style when handling traffic stops.  We have discussed the passenger side approach vs. the driver side approach several times.  One part of the traffic stop that we have not delved into is where are you when you write the ticket/citation?

Do you sit in the driver’s seat of your car?
Do you sit in the passenger’s seat of your car?
Do you stand on the passenger’s side of your car?
Do you stand at the rear of the violator’s car?

I have seen/heard/done so many different variations.  So let’s hear what you guys/gals are doing!

	Near the rear passenger's side of my car. I'm not sitting in that death trap while I'm writing a ticket.

	Sometimes I sit in the drivers seat, sometimes I stand at the passenger side of my car behind an open door...it just depends.

	Those who know me, also know that I am not much of a traffic oriented kind of guy. Although I am kin of like G16; however, lately I have been opening the passenger side door and standing there. I am on the clean side of the car and I don't have to walk back around my car any more than I have to. The biggest problem I have though is having a huge problem of hearing my radio, due to some hearing loss. I have gotten used to everything else being set up for use from the driver's seat. Then again, each traffic stop is different.
